How to Change Interface Language of Google Chrome

During installation, Chrome detects the interface language of the operating system in use and selects the same for itself. Next, we will consider the algorithm for manually changing the browser’s interface language for Windows and Android platforms.

Here is what the "Languages" settings section looks like

Language Settings

Each Chrome application has a separate settings section where options related to language in any way are placed – interface, translator and spell check.

You can get here in one of two ways:

via the link chrome://settings/languages (convenient if the interface is in a language unfamiliar to you)
through the menu → “Settings” → left panel “Languages” → “Preferred languages”

Use the main menu button:

top right three-dot menu → “Settings” → scroll down to “Languages”

How to Change the Interface Language

Open the “Preferred languages” settings section in Chrome for Windows
Select the desired language from the list and click on the vertical ellipsis button
- if the desired language is not in the list, then use the “Add languages” button beforehand
Checkmark “Display Google Chrome in this language”
Click on the “Relaunch” button to restart Chrome with the new interface language

Open the “Languages” settings section in Chrome for Android
We are interested in the “Chrome’s language” section
Click on the current interface language, in our example it is “English (United States)”, to open the list of all available languages
Select the desired language, and the interface will change immediately
