Reading list
Since the beginning of 2021, a new feature called “Reading List” has been added to the stable version of Google Chrome. Unlike regular bookmarks, it is primarily intended for tracking important materials that you definitely want to study but currently do not have the time or opportunity to do so. You can then “defer” a link to an article to this special list.
Zoom
Any respectable browser, including Google Chrome, of course, should have scaling functionality. The set of capabilities for changing the size of a website page is quite standard here. We will describe all available zoom control options.
Reading mode
The browser market becomes more competitive with each passing year, and its developers strive to make web surfing even more comfortable by adding new features. One such innovation in Google Chrome is the reading mode. With just a click, it shifts the focus to the content component of the website page you’re viewing, removing other styling elements.
Interface Language
During installation, Chrome detects the interface language of the operating system in use and selects the same for itself. Next, we will consider the algorithm for manually changing the browser’s interface language for Windows and Android platforms.
Site encoding
It is now extremely rare to encounter a problem with incorrect text display on a website due to the browser incorrectly determining its encoding. Starting from version 55, Chrome no longer provides the option to manually change encoding. It now entirely relies on correct header delivery from the web server. The program’s developers suggest solving this issue by installing a third-party extension. The process is further discussed below.
Tabs
The necessity of having tabs in a modern browser has long ceased to be a subject of debate. After all, they allow for convenient and tidy organization of all open website pages, not to mention the technical sections of the program itself. In this article, we will briefly discuss the main aspects of working with tabs in Google Chrome, as well as some nuances that often concern users.
Menu
Over the past few years, many applications have been striving to make the main menu button consistent across all platforms, including mobile and desktop. Thanks to such standardization, it’s easier for users to navigate the same program on different operating systems.
